Capsicum Masala

Capsicum Masala

Capsicum Masala - A simple side dish for all kinds of Indian bread like chapatis/roti/Naan/phulka etc.
A dash of cream makes it extra special. Great to include in the meal plan for one dinner, when you have relatives visiting for few days :)

Ingredients:

  • Capsicum(Bell Pepper) - 3 medium ( cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • Onion - 1 big (shopped into small pieces)
  • Tomato - 2 medium (chopped into small pieces)
  •  Coriander Powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - To taste
  • Chilli Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala - 1 teaspoon (heaped)
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon (heaped)
  • Cream - 2 tablespoons (optional)
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves - chopped, 1 tablespoon

Preparation:
Add the oil to a kadai and add cumin seeds. Add onion pieces and fry them till they cook and turn brown in color.Add a little salt when you are frying onion.Add turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste and fry for a few minutes.Now add tomato and all the spice powders and fry it well. Let it fry more for around 10 minutes till it becomes a paste.The oil should get separated from the paste.


Once the onion tomato paste gets cooked, add the capsicum pieces to it and stir it for about a minute.Add a little water and let it cook till the capsicum is well done.



 Now add the cream and let it simmer for two minutes.Now, add the coriander leaves and put off the flame.
