Cooking tips

How to quickly peel a garlic clove:

  • Remove the clove from the garlic bulb.
  • Keep the clove on the kitchen table and keep the flat side of the knife on the clove.
  • Tap the knife with your fist.
  • Thats it. The cover will easily slide out of the clove.

How to get the rice grains separate while cooking Pulav/Biriyani etc.

Method 1: When cooking plain rice, add a teaspoon of ghee in the boiling water and then close the lid.This will help to keep the grains separated while cooking. This of course is in the case where perfect amount of water is added and all other basic stuff taken care of while cooking rice.

Method 2: While cooking pulav or biriyani or ghee rice etc., along with ghee, one more thing that will help keep the grains separated is adding a teaspoon of lemon juice while the rice is cooking.

Make sure you do not stir the rice while it is cooking. Stirring will make the rice stickier.
