Ribbon Pakoda - Oatu Pakoda




Ingredients
  • Rice flour - 1 cup
  • Gram flour - 1/2 cup
  • Red chilli powder -1 tablespoon
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon *
  • Melted Butter - 11/2 tablespoon
  • Water 1/2 cup

*  Take 2 pods of garlic and grind it a fine paste witha little water.filter that water and add to the required amount of water.

Preparation
  • Take the rice flour, gram flour in a vessel.
  • Add the red chili powder, asafetida, salt, melted butter to it and mix it well.
  • Add the garlic water to it and mix it to make it to a dough similar to chapati dough.
  • Fit the murukku press with the ribbon pakoda making disc.
  • Take a little dough and fill the murukku press with the dough.
  • Heat enough oil for deep frying.
  • Press the dough directly in the oil in circular motion.
  • Once the sound reduces , turn it over and fry it till it becomes golden brown.
  • Remove it and drain it in the paper towel.
  • Store it in an airtight container and enjoy with a cup of hot tea/coffee.
