Ginger Tea Lemonade (Iced Lemon Ginger Tea)


Why go to fancy coffee shops and pay so much for a iced tea lemonade!!! Instead make it at home in a jiffy and guess what!! You can customize it with the amount of lemon , tea or sugar or add any flavor that you wish. You can make the syrup in advance and add it whenever you need to make lemon tea. Add couple of fresh mint leaves to the glass and you will have a sure winner!


Ingredients
  • Water - 1  1/2 cup
  • Black tea bags - 2
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ice cubes
  • Lemon slices - 2
Preparation
  • Bring the water to boil in a saucepan and add the tea bags or alternatively add 1/2 teaspoon normal tea leaves. 
  • Let it boil for a minute and switch off the flame.
  • Allow this to cool to room temperature.
  • Remove the tea bags or filter the tea leaves.
  • Combine the sugar , water and ginger in a sauce pan and bring it to boil.
  • Now, reduce the heat and simmer for about 6 or 7 minutes. Stir it occasionally and make sure the sugar dissolves.
  • Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature and strain it.
  • Add the lemon juice and syrup to the tea.
  • Put the ice cubes in the serving glasses.
  • Pour the lemonade mixture over the ice.
  • Garnish with lemon slices and serve.
  • Makes 2 servings
